He grew up in an ambiance where music came naturally to him at a very young age. Initiated into Hindustani Classical Music by his father, late Pt. Raghunath Prasanna (honoured with the Kendriya Sangeet Natak Academy award), Shri Ravi Shankar Prasanna was also immensely fortunate in getting tutored under late Ustad Mohammed Ali Khan and late Pt.
