The theoretical categories of homeland, culture, caste, language, ethnicity are applied to various texts from or about the early diaspora to texts written by the cyber diaspora. The genres vary from travel narrative to those written in the mother tongue of the respective diaspora. The diaspora spaces from which the texts have been picked up span the entire globe. There are texts from the USA, UK, Australia, Canada and Trinidad.
