Disability is a condition that limits the participation of persons in society. It can be bettered by appropriate and suitable intervention. The book begins with a chapter on reflections on disability. The next 21 chapters are about each disability mentioned in India’s Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016. Each chapter deals with an overview of a particular disability. There will be an introduction to that disability, a look at it in the Indian context, an examination of types, symptoms, prevalence, causes, diagnosis, treatment methods, recent trends, major contributions of researchers and details of a few national and international organizations working in the area of that specific disability. Finally, there are auxiliary chapters dealing with various subjects related to the Act. We hope that this book will help readers understand the complexity of each disability and enable them to learn about the new Act.
