The recent past has seen a phenomenal growth of New Literatures in English. This study is an effort at understanding this literary phenomenon and underlining the frontiers of creative condition. It focuses on the poetry and novel of Canada, Australia and New Zealand in a historical-cum-critical perspective and defines their essential identifiers. in this first study of its kind adequate emphasis has been laid on the making of tradition, expression of modernism, post-colonial concerns, and the emergence of literary canon.
